What this service involves
For older patients, the goals are usually practical — walking to the bathroom safely, standing up from a chair, climbing steps, or getting back to independence after a hospital admission. Assessment includes balance, gait, strength and the home setup.
Treatment combines gentle strengthening, balance work with support, walking practice and advice the family can act on. Where a patient cannot travel, home visits can be arranged.
